Star Plus dominates weekday programming while Colors' weekend leadership grows with India's Got Talent

In an otherwise dull week for Hindi general entertainment channels, the weekday and weekend toppers touched new heights. The weekday topper, 'Diya Aur Baati Hum' on Star Plus became the first television show to cross 13 million TVM, while weekend topper Colors' 'Comedy Nights with Kapil' also hit a peak touching 11 million TVM in the third week of TAM 2014.

According to TVT data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 3 of TAM 2014 (January 12 - January 18) CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus continued to dominate the weekday programming with five of its shows in the top 10. Zee TV held three slots, followed by Colors with two shows and SAB TV with one show in the top 10.

Colors' latest offering, India's Got Talent, remained the second-most watched show despite a slight drop in viewership in its second week, followed by DID 4 on Zee TV at No. 3.

Weekday toppers (all data in TVM, 000000's)

Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus scaled new heights this week and became the first ever show on television to hit a 13 TVM. The show recorded 13.5 TVM this week (last week 12.6 TVM).

Star Plus' Saathiya jumped one position to No. 2. The show fetched 10.4 TVM (last week 10.7).

Jodha Akbar on Zee TV slipped one position to No. 3 and recorded 9.8 TVM (last week 11  TVM).

SAB's Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma held No. 4 position with an average viewership of 8.8 TVM against last week's 9.2 TVM.

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus held No. 5 position with an average viewership of 8.8 TVM (last week 8.7 TVM).

Star Plus' epic series, Mahabharat, was also unmoved at No. 6 position. The show recorded an average TVM of 7.5 TVM (last week 7.8 TVM).

Pyaar Ka Dard Hai on Star Plus jumped one position at No. 7 with 6.5 TVM (last week 7.3 TVM).

Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke on Zee TV slipped one position to No. 8 recording 6.4 TVM (last week 7.7 TVM).

Balika Vadhu on Colors rose to No. 9 position garnering 6.3 TVM (last week 6.6 TVM).

Qubool Hai on Zee TV and Sasural Simar Ka on Colors shared 10th position with an average viewership of 5.9 TVM.

Weekend toppers

Comedy Night with Kapil on Colors touched its peak rating at 11 TVM (last week 10.4).

Colors' India's Got Talent dropped in its second week recording 7.9 TVM. The show had a strong opening at 9.4 TVM last week.

Dance India Dance Season 4 on Zee TV recorded 5.4 TVM (last week 4.4 TVM).

Hatim on Life OK witnessed surge in its ratings and the show fetched 4.8 TVM (last week 3.7).

Nach Baliye 6 on Star Plus fetched 4.4 TVM (last week 5.3 TVM).

Sony's crime series, CID, dropped to 4.0 TVM against last week's 4.5 TVM.

Life OK's Shapath recorded 4.0 TVM (last week 3.8).

Adalat on Sony had an average viewership of 3.1 TVM (last week 3.4).

Fear Files on Zee TV recorded 2.9 TVM (last week 2.8).

Sony's other crime show, Crime Patrol, dropped to 2.7 TVM (last week 3.4).

Boogie Woogie on Sony recorded 2.4 TVM in its third week (last week 2.7).

Star Plus' crime fiction, Arjun, recorded 2.0 TVM (last week 1.9).

Bh Se Bhade on Zee TV fetched 1.9 TVM (last week 2.2).
