publive-imageIssues related to crime against women have seen a lot of social and political movements across India. The scene is even worse in Tier II & III markets. MY FM has started a campaign, 'Women without Fear', to take the movement to the next level. The campaign has started in Bhopal and Chandigarh with the help of its popular female RJs.

The idea behind the campaign is to ensure that there is an effort by the society to make women feel safe. The campaign will be replicated in a phased manner in all the cities where MY FM is present. The RJs Bhopal and Chandigarh have begun collecting audio signatures from people who are supporting the drive. Bhopal has already got 9,430 audio signatures and Chandigarh will soon touch the figure. These audio signatures will then be shared with the Governors of the two states to bring up the issue, which will lead to concrete steps taken to make these cities safer for women.

RJ Meenakshi from Chandigarh and RJ Parul from Bhopal toured the cities and recorded signatures for the campaign and have decided not to broadcast their shows from the studio till they manage to get the support of the people in backing their campaign and steps are taken to ensure women's safety.  Both the RJs are updating their Facebook and YouTube pages on a regular basis to keep people involved with the developments and bring in more support.

Commenting on the campaign, Harrish M Bhatia, CEO, MY FM, said, “We took notice of the fact that women's safety issues are not given due consideration in our cities and decided to start a movement on our own.  We are all for women, and some of our best RJs are women. Women's empowerment is an important step which will give women the right to fight back and feel safe in their cities. We are sure to get the desired support in our markets and be able to bring a change in society and the way women are treated.”
