Pradeep Guha and Srivivasan Swamy elected Vice-Presidents of IAA

Their elections were announced at the IAA World Board Annual Meeting held in Cannes on Tuesday

The Annual Meeting of the IAA World Board of Directors at Cannes on June 18, 2013, saw the confirmation of two Indians to key global positions. Pradeep Guha gets another term as Vice-President and Area Director Asia/Pacific region, while Srinivasan Swamy, President, IAA India Chapter, takes over as Vice-President - Development Asia/Pacific.

Guha said there was a lot that could be done in the rapidly developing Asia/Pacific region and stressed the need for industry associations to collaborate in the greater interests of its professionals.

Swamy added that the 75th. Anniversary of IAA was a landmark that would provide an impetus to many developmental events in the region that he would announce very soon. These would include a Global Marketing Summit in India, the details of which were being worked out at present. He also said he would lead a delegation of senior Indian professionals to the IAA 75th Anniversary Leadership Forum that is scheduled for October 3 this year in London.

IAA World Chairman and President Faris Abouhamad, who took office in January 2013, stated, "Our association, in its 75^th Anniversary year, will benefit from the energy and talents of IAA leadership drawn from virtually every part of the world. I am especially pleased and excited to have such able colleagues as the IAA charts its future. I cannot imagine a better or more capable team to embrace and deliver on the IAA's plans and initiatives."

The following office-bearers were elected: Senior Vice-President - Felix Tataru, COO at GMP (Romania); Treasurer - Glenn Hansen President and CEO of BPA Worldwide (USA); Secretary - Erich Buxbaum, Managing Director of EHB Consulting GmbH (Austria).

Besides Guha and Swamy, the Board of Directors also confirmed the following appointments: Jill Cohen – VP Area Director US/Canada; Saad El Zein - VPresident Area Director - Middle East/Africa; Pawel Kowalewski - VP Area Director- Europe; Michael Lee - IAA Managing Director; Carla Michelotti – VP Corporate Members and Government Affairs; Naji Boulos – VP Government Relations Middle East/North Africa; Norkor Duah – VP Development, Africa; Hani Ghorayeb – VP Development Middle East/North Africa; Heather Leembruggen – VP 75th Anniversary and Special Events; and Diane Slade – VP Learning.
