Star India strengthens content team with two appointments

Rajeeta Hemwani has joined as Vice-President, Content Engine, while Saugata Mukherjee is slated to join soon

Star India has strengthened its content team with two new appointments. Rajeeta Hemwani has joined as Vice-President – Content Engine while Saugata Mukherjee is slated to join soon as Creative Director at the VP level. Both join Star India from non-broadcast backgrounds. While Hemwani had rich experience in the music field, Mukherjee comes from the book publishing industry, his last assignment being with Pan Macmillan.

Both will be reporting to Gaurav Banerjee, Head of Content Engine, Star India.

Prior to joining Star India, Hemwani was running her own entrepreneurial venture, Eye On Entertainment & Wild Factory. She started her venture in 2011 after spending 15 years in companies like Universal Music Group, Reliance Entertainment, Times Music, Amitabh Bachchan Corporation (ABCL) and Tips Industries.

Mukherjee comes with an experience of over 12 years in book publishing having worked in editorial functions at HarperCollins, NIIT, A. M. Health Company, Rupa & Company besides Pan Macmillan India.
