GEC Watch: Diya Aur Baati rules weekday programming; IBD remains weekend topper
Star Plus continues to lead the top 10 weekday programmes list with four shows followed by Colors with 3, Zee TV with 2 and SAB with 1 show

Both weekday and weekend toppers of last week – Star Plus' Diya Aur Baati Hum and Zee TV's India's Best Dramebaaz (IBD) – have become stronger this week. According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 9 (February 24 - March 2) of TAM 2013, Star Plus continued to lead the charts with four shows among the top 10 weekday sows followed by Colors with three, Zee TV with two and SAB with one show.
Among the new show launches, Saraswatichandra debuted with 2.1 TVR which is Star Plus's highest launch week rating for a weekday fiction show in the last 18 months. Competing with Saraswatichandra, Sony had launched new fiction show Khoobsurat in the same slot which opened at 1.0 and averaged at 0.8 TVR for the first week.
Weekday toppers
Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus strengthened its position at No. 1. It garnered an average TVR of 5.9 (last week 4.6).
Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus climbed one position to No. 2 with an average rating of 4.4 TVR (last week 4.2).
Colors' Balika Vadhu slipped one position to No. 3 in Week 9. The show averaged at 4.2 TVR this week (last week 4.3).
SAB's Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma continued to hold the No. 4 position with 3.9 TVR against last week's 3.8 TVR.
Zee TV's Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke climbed two positions to No. 5 this week. The show recorded an average TVR of 3.8 (last week 3.6).
Madhubala on Colors was at No. 6 with an average TVR of 3.7 (last week 3.8).
Star Plus' Pyaar Ka Dard Hai climbed three positions to No. 7 with average TVR of 3.5 this week (last week 3.5).
Star Plus' Saathiya held the No. 8 position this week with an average of 3.3 TVR (last week 3.6).
Colors' other fiction show, Sasural Simar Ka, slipped three positions to No. 9 with an average TVR of 3.2 this week (last week 3.7).
Zee TV's Qubool Hai was at No. 10 this week with 3.1 TVR (last week 3.5).
Weekend toppers
India's Best Dramebaaz on Zee TV continued to rule weekend programming and became stronger in the second week. The show garnered an average TVR of 4.4 (last week 3.5).
Star Plus' Nach Baliye 5 fetched an average of 2.9 TVR (last week 2.3).
Sony's CID recorded an average TVR of 2.5 (last week 2.4).
Sony's other crime show, Crime Patrol, fetched 2.4 TVR this week (last week 1.9).
Fear Files on Zee TV garnered an average rating of 2.3 TVR this week (last week 2.0).
Comedy Circus ke Ajoobe on Sony averaged 2.1 TVR (last week 1.9).
Star Plus' crime fiction, Arjun, also saw a decline recording 1.4 TVR (last week 1.1).
Sony's Adalat fetched 1.3 TVR this week (last week 1.1).
Colors' comedy show, Nautanki, dropped further to 1.3 TVR (last week 1.2).
