Last year was a stellar year for Lowe Lintas, Chennai, having picked up two significant pieces of business: Daimler-Benz and Amrutanjan. The agency has started 2013 by retaining the mandate for Apollo Hospitals. This is a national mandate, covering all of Apollo's healthcare verticals (barring insurance).
Lowe Lintas will be responsible for integrating national initiatives with regional initiatives, so that Brand Apollo is able to present a unified front in terms of communication. Apollo Hospitals is India's pioneer and leader in healthcare, with many unparalleled achievements to its credit. The challenge for the agency will be to build on this significant equity and help make the brand ready for a new era of competition. The agency has already executed a campaign for oncology-related robotic surgery; this campaign is currently running in key markets.
As with every other win, Apollo Hospitals was a hard-fought pitch with national agencies of repute in the fray. GV Krishnan, Executive Director, Lowe Lintas, said, “We are delighted to manage the mandate of this prestigious institution a pioneer in healthcare and wish to make brand Apollo a preferred choice in this category.”
Going forward, the agency plans to invest significantly to its already strong manpower and infrastructure. Joseph George, CEO, Lowe Lintas India, "Contrary to what many believe, the Chennai market does offer significant and challenging mandates for ad agencies which are willing to take the effort and stay invested, and this win is proof of it."
Commenting on the tendency of Chennai-based clients to look elsewhere for strategic and creative talents, Krishnan said, "We have, over the past year and a half, worked on a model wherein the Bangalore and Chennai offices work in tandem to deliver to our brands' and clients' expectations. With support from Bangalore on key strategic issues, we have been able to provide our key clients the best of both.”
