Discovery Science launches new show 'How Tech Works'

Premiering today, the show will be telecast every night at 9 pm

Discovery Science travels the world to meet the inventors and innovators behind the latest cutting edge technology in its new series 'How Tech Works'. Shot exclusively in High Definition, the 13-part series features an eclectic mix of all things science and explores the emerging technologies. 'How Tech Works' will air every night at 9 pm starting December 3, 2012.

'How Tech Works' introduces an array of fast paced, visually stunning stories including a trip high in the sky with the world's newest and largest military plane, the A400M and a journey to the depths of the Pacific Ocean with robots, as they explore previously unreachable parts of the ocean. The series features latest and future technologies in the military and the automobile industry.

Some of the technological advancements featured in the series are:

• Quad-Copters: Flying Robots capable of building a 6 meter tall structure. Robotic construction is the future of architecture.
• Wikispeed: super fuel efficient car that goes from zero to 60 in five seconds. It can reach a top speed of 143 miles an hour, giving you as much as 125 miles per gallon.
• The new C295 military plane from Spain that can transform from a hospital to a cargo vessel and back to a passenger plane in less time than it takes to book a flight.
• U-Boat Worx, the Dutch company that makes personal submersibles for two to five people with big acrylic bubbles that give spectacular views under the sea.
• The FlyRad: a cross between a dirt bike and a unicycle. With a 500-watt motor it can reach speeds of 20 miles an hour, even hills are handled with ease.
• Two Japanese engineers with a passion for giant mechanized monsters, their latest invention stands three meters tall, weighs as much as a car and walks upright on two legs.  They call it the land walker and it's the ultimate monster toy.
• Blogger Dale Loomis who's obsessed with recording the fastest lap times at the Nürburgring, the famous racetrack in Germany. His ultimate goal is to beat his own time. The question is will he do it?
