10-week TAM data: Star Plus leads GEC genre; Colors is No. 2
Star Plus led in 5 weeks while Colors was at the top in 3 weeks and Sony in 2 weeks. On Digital platform, Sony is No.2 and Colors is holding No.1 position from last 4 weeks

As TAM Media Research has released the data for 10 weeks together, it would be significant to take a look at the data for entire period. Looking at the data for GECs for 10 weeks, BestMediaInfo.com has positioned the channels according to their average GRPs for the entire period.
According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus leads the Hindi entertainment genre with an average GRPs of 250.4 starting Week 41 (October 7, 2012, Sunday) and ending Week 50 (December 15, 2012). In 10 weeks, Star Plus retained No.1 position for 5 weeks. During this period, the channel touched the highest GRPs at 285 in Week 45 while it recorded lowest GRPs of 230 in Week 46 and 47.
Colors retained No.2 position according to the average GRPs of 231.9 where it is holding the top position from last two weeks. It was also No.1 in Week 47 when it touched the peak ratings of 267 GRPs during this period. Colors touched the minimum GRPs of 210 in Week 46 when it was No. 3.
According to the average ratings of 10 weeks, Sony Entertainment Television was No.3 with 215 GRPs. The channel also topped the chart twice in Week 46 with 249 GRPs and in Week 43 with 255 GRPs. It had recorded its lowest ratings of 200 GRPs in Week 42.
Zee TV stood at No.4 with average ratings of 192.7 GRPs. The channel recorded its highest GRPs in Week 49 at 218 GRPs and lowest GRPs in Week 46 at 182 GRPs.
SAB TV fared at No.5 according to the average ratings of 10 weeks. The channel managed to garner an average of 142.6 GRPs with 152 GRPs as highest in Week 45 and 132 GRPs as lowest in Week 43.
During TAM blackout for 10 weeks, Life OK remained at No.6 with an average GRPs of 130.7. The channel also held No.5 position in Week 43 and 44.
Sahara One fared at last with 24.3 average GRPs. The channel could not manage to touch 30 GRPs in the entire period of 10 weeks.

However, the Digital platform presents a different picture where Star Plus remains No.1 channel with an average of 234.2 GRPs but Sony has held No.2 position with 226.8 GRPs closely followed by Colors with 222.1 GRPs.
Post the digitisation in 3 metros, Colors has emerged as No.1 channel in last four weeks on digital platform.
Zee TV was at No.4 for the entire 10 weeks on digital platform with an average of 167.4 GRPs. At No.5, SAB recorded an average of 132.9 GRPs while Life OK was at No.6 with 111.3 GRPs. Sahara One had recorded 21.1 GRPs on digital platforms.
