The stage is set and the artists are ready to rock! The glitterati, razzmatazz and the glamour of 'Sony Xperia Tipo presents the 2012 40th Anniversary American Music Awards' is all set to hit your television screens on Vh1 India on November 19, 2012 at 06:30 am with a prime time repeat at 9pm.

With a spectacular celebration of music, The American Music Awards 2012 is set to blow away audiences with an incomparable showcase of the biggest names and talents from the American music scene. The star-studded line-up of top artists from this generation include Justin Bieber, Kelly Clarkson, Carly Rae Jepsen, PSY, The Wanted and Swizz Beatz featuring Chris Brown and Ludacris who will set the stage on fire! The awards ceremony will also see pop sensations like Christina Aguilera, Taylor Swift, Linkin Park, Usher and Pitbull who promise to take the night to another level altogether and get the audiences grooving for more. If that's not enough, music icon Steve Wonder will perform a tribute to the legendary Dick Clarke who created the American Music Awards in 1973. The tribute performance will be introduced by Ryan Seacrest.

Leading the nominations pack this year are Nicki Minaj and Rihanna with 4 nominations each, while Drake, Justin Bieber, Maroon 5, One Direction and Usher follow with 3 nominations each and Carrie Underwood, Chris Brown, Fun, Gotye, J.Cole, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Luke Bryan and Pitbull collected 2 nominations. This year's 2012 Artist of the Year nominees include Justin Bieber, Drake, Maroon 5, Katy Perry and Rihanna. This year also marks the creation of the new Electronic Dance Music Category with David Guetta, Calvin Harris and Skrillex being nominated.
