Maheshwar Peri has decided to step down as President & Publisher of Outlook Group. However, he will continue his association with the group as Mentor. He will remain with the group till March 31, 2012, when Indranil Roy will take over as President.
Commenting on his decision, Peri said, “I felt the need to concentrate fully on my venture, Pathfinder Publications, which publishes two titles – Career 360 and Competition 360. As an established career focused magazine, Career 360 will complete three years this April while the addition of Competition 360 will require my complete attention. I’ll continue to contribute to Outlook Group as Mentor.”
Peri has been associated with the group since the launch of Outlook magazine in 1995. He has been Publisher for the group more than nine years.
Peri has also been closely involved with different industry forums, especially the Association of Indian Magazines (AIM) of which he has been President and played a key role in building up this body.
Peri’s exit has brought a broader role for Outlook Group’s President Indranil Roy who will now lead all the titles under the group. Roy, who has been based in Mumbai until now, will move to Delhi from April. Speaking on his vision for the group, Roy told BestMediaInfo, “I expect 2012 to be a year of both growth and challenges. We have revamped Outlook Business this month and several other plans are in the pipeline. Another focus area would be Outlook Hindi which is rapidly growing in circulation and revenue.”
When asked if the group would be more bullish in the digital space, Roy said, “Although we continue with the digital editions of all our titles, I don’t see strong revenue opportunities from them. This is the case with almost every publication. However, we need to put constant efforts in digital and explore several opportunities available in online platforms.”
