Drifting is a high-skilled, high-powered motor sport where drivers intentionally maneuver their cars into well executed, controlled sideways slides at high speeds as they race through a marked course. You can feel your adrenaline soar as drivers take their heavily customised street cars around the track mixing speed with style. With so much stress loads acting on the car, drifting is a testament to every part on the car. A seven-part series, 'Drift Style', airs every Sunday at 8 PM on Discovery Turbo.
'Drift Style' embeds the viewer inside the world of the Formula Drift Pro Championship Series. Established as one of the most exciting drift events of the year, Formula Drift Pro Championship Series brings together traditional racing and extreme sports. With a high-speed entry and very tight spacing between the cars and walls, the Formula Drift consists of a seven-round championship played out at race tracks across the United States. Drifting the car is one thing, but to drift as close and as fast with other cars may look like a lot of fun but is all about car control, skill and focus which includes making right turns. In the drift style of racing, drivers race head-to-head on their high three-digit horsepower engines and literally screech around tracks. The winner is judged on basis of line, speed, angle execution and style, with the teams putting on a show through the entire course without making any mistakes.
The season unfolds to the final finish line giving the viewer an intimate sense of what drift style is all about. Each episode examines the backbone of the sport, its characters and the incredible action of race day. The ongoing story lives in the eyes of the drivers, the pit crews and the organizers, as they face a competitive and trying season.
Motorsport fans can look forward to 'Drift Style' for a thrilling combination of howling engines, screaming tyres and an electrifying line-up of hard-charging drivers.
