GEC Watch: Sony comes to kissing distance with Star Plus

Sony narrows the gap with Star Plus to 15 GRPs; Zee TV's DID L'il Masters opens at a whopping TVR of 5.78 in Week 17 of TAM 2012

Sony Entertainment Television has taken an impressive jump of 31 GRPs in the Week 17 (April 22 to April 28) of TAM 2012 to come within kissing distance of Hindi GEC leader Star Plus. The channel has narrowed the margin with Star Plus to a mere 15 points; however, Sony has taken the leap due to the break-free Sunday along with the telecast of Aamir Khan starrer '3 Idiots' which fetched 4.1 TVR for the channel. Besides, Zee TV's DID L'il Masters opened at a whopping TVR of 5.78 on Saturday, April 28.

Star Plus has added a few GRPs for the first time during the IPL. The channel has garnered 255 GRPs (last week 248).

Riding on the break-free Sunday on April 22 and telecast of Aamir Khan starrer '3 Idiots', Sony Entertainment Television has taken a big jump of 31 GRPs. The channel has narrowed the gap with Star Plus to a mere 15 GRPs. Sony has garnered 240 GRPs this week (last week 209).

Zee TV has lost its No.2 position this week despite a decent opening of its flagship show DID L'il Masters which fetched 5.78 TVR for the channel. The channel has recorded 210 GRPs this week (last week 214).

Colors has maintained status quo and recorded 195 GRPs (last week 194).

SAB TV has lost further to record 110 GRPs this week (last week 115).

Life OK has recorded 83 GRPs (last week 86).

Sahara One remains at 43 GRPs this week (last week 45).
