publive-imageManipal University along with National Geographic Channel unveils a lifetime opportunity for teenagers in India to stretch the boundaries of their imagination and unleash their inner genius.

Teenovator-2012 will stimulate the intellect of young minds and bridge the gap between theory and practice. The competition will reach out to students between classes IX and XII across the country through an exhaustive selection procedure consisting of written examinations and Group discussions. Four shortlisted participants will be selected from four zones across India. The finalists will compete in one of the first real life case studies based TV show. The teenagers will exercise their knowledge and creativity to churn out valuable solutions for some of India's best C-level executives. This will be showcased on the National Geographic Channel during February 2012.

The nationwide talent hunt will bring out the genius in over 2.5 lakh students across 350 schools around India. The final winners will bag a handsome cash award of Rs 15 lakhs and will also have the honor of appearing on the National Geographic channel.

Speaking about the initiative, Dr. H S Ballal, Pro Chancellor, Manipal University said, “At Manipal University, we believe that the role of academia is to inspire the next generation of enthusiastic, creative thinkers who are curious about the world we live in and have the desire to contribute to the world. Teenovators 2012 is another step towards our quest to encourage research and innovation. Together with Nat Geo we hope inspire the participating students and nurture the spirit of innovation in India's schools.”

Speaking about the initiative, Keertan Adyanthaya, Managing Director, National Geographic Network and Fox International Channels India said, “At Nat Geo we constantly endeavor to collaborate with like-minded partners to provide a platform for students to bring out their ingenuity and hidden talents. With Teenovators, we will be supporting Manipal University's grassroot level initiative and give the winners an opportunity to showcase their innovative creations on Nat Geo.”

Teenovators is being extensively promoted by National Geographic Channel on air through vignettes about the competition as well as a special microsite on Facebook that would have regular updates, blogs and pictures about Teenovators.
