IPL 4 scores highest ever opening TRPs
Opening match of DLF IPL 2011 scores a 7.14 TVR; reaches a record 55.8 million viewers.

The DLF Indian Premier League (IPL) truly got bigger and better this year with a remarkable start to this season. The first match of the DLF IPL 2011 played between last year's champions Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders received a thunderous reception on MAX! TAM viewership data shows that the opening game between CSK and KKR got a staggering rating of 7.14 TRP for the All India, C&S 4+ audience and the opening ceremony generated a 3 TVR. With this stupendous start, it promises to be a historic and record breaking season of the DLF IPL.
The opening match of IPL 3 had recorded 5.9 TVRs.
According to TAM, an audience measurement firm that tracks TV viewership, an incredible 55.8 million watched the first DLF IPL match on MAX, as compared to DLF IPL 2010 that reached 42.6 million viewers. With 31% more women and 52% more kids tuning in as compared to last year, it has truly been a stupendous beginning to the DLF IPL 2011.
In digital households, the opening match had a rating of 8.9 TVR.
