Emami Ropes In Pandit Birju Maharaj To Endorse Zandu Healthcare Brands

To launch a mega national television commercial campaign featuring the connoisseur of Kathak dance.

On the completion of 100 years of Zandu Healthcare, Emami has launched a mega campaign with Padma Vibhushan Pt Birju Maharaj, the connoisseur of Kathak dance. The Zandu portfolio includes popular brands such as Zandu Balm, Zandu Chyawanprash, Zandu Kesari Jeevan, Zandu Pancharishta, Sudarshan and Nityam Churna. Zandu comprises more than 300 ethical, generic and OTC brands in its portfolio. The Rs 1100 cr Emami Limited, makers of Fair and Handsome, Navratna and Boroplus, had acquired Zandu Pharmaceuticals for approx Rs 700 cr in 2008 with a focus to communicate and commercialize the brands and the ayurvedic sector.

Zandu brands have been recognized and accepted for being a natural medium to lead a healthy and happy living.  To bring in the centenary celebrations for the brand the company will be launching a national television commercial campaign, featuring iconic Pandit Birju Maharaj. Pandit Birju Maharaj expressed his happiness on the occasion saying, “Emami is a brand I have sincere regards for and so I am delighted to be a part of this campaign which captures the essence of good health and happiness.”

Earlier Zandu has had celebrities like Malaika Arora Khan, Zaheer Khan, Virendra Sehwag and Sachin Tendulakar endorsing the brands. Speaking on the occasion, Harsh Agarwal, Director, Emami expressed, “Celebrity endorsement has worked for us and we will continue with it. As the company grows and our portfolio increases, we will rope in more celebrities. Padma Vibhushan Pt Birju Maharaj is the ideal choice for Zandu portfolio as he embodies healthiness, vigor and well being.”

In addition to this the company recently signed on Jugni - Kangana Ranaut the petite beauty from Himachal Pradesh, to endorse the Emami range of skin – care products. Kangana Ranaut has been signed for 2 years. Emami thus continues its success run in introducing new celebrities for its brands thereby creating customer delight with the star connect. The list already boosts of names like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Kareena Kapoor, Preity Zinta and Bipasha Basu.

    Pt.Birju Maharaj the connoisseur of Kathak dance is a renowned personality need not any introduction as given in your Zandu Kesari Jeewan ad. Moreover use of Padam Vibhushan in a commercial ad is not in good taste
