Delhi: Zee Entertainment Enterprises (ZEEL) has initiated the Monthly Management Mentorship (3M) Program. Led by Zee Chairman, R. Gopalan, the program aims to provide strategic guidance to the management team and ensure alignment with the company's objectives.
The 3M Program is designed to review business performance, identify areas for improvement, and enhance operational efficiency across Zee's portfolio. Under the leadership of Gopalan and Uttam Prakash Agarwal, Chairman of the Audit Committee, the program's Special Committee conducted an extensive review of Zee's business verticals, corporate functions, and leadership teams.
Speaking about the program's objectives, Gopalan emphasised the board's confidence in Zee's potential to achieve targeted results. He commended the leadership of Mr. Punit Goenka, Zee's MD and CEO, in aligning the company's operations with its long-term goals.
As part of the program, the Special Committee identified specific business verticals requiring critical assessment, including Margo Networks (Sugarbox), Teleplay and Zindagi, Hipi, Weyyak, and the English Cluster of Linear TV Business. These verticals were advised to enhance performance and reduce losses to align with the company's objectives.
Additionally, the Special Committee conducted a detailed analysis of Zee's Technology and Innovation Centre (TIC), emphasising the need for improved return on investment. While acknowledging the TIC's technological advancements, the committee advised leveraging its capabilities to enhance content development and distribution processes.
Furthermore, the Special Committee reviewed Zee's Music Business, recommending strategies to enhance monetisation avenues and optimise costs while maintaining market leadership.
