New Delhi: The Union government has appointed Atul Kumar Chaudhary as the new secretary of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) post the retirement of V Raghunandan on May 31.
The appointment comes on the back of the superannuation of Raghunandan last month. He was responsible for policy implementation, and telecom enforcement in various country regions, among other responsibilities.
Chaudhary was the deputy director general (DDG) at the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) in his previous stint.
He was also the DDG of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) in 2021.
