Delhi: Rupert Murdoch, the 93-year-old media mogul, has married 67-year-old retired marine biologist Elena Zhukova in California. This marks Murdoch's fifth marriage.
The wedding was held on Saturday at a Murdoch vineyard. The couple began dating last year.
The Australia-born Murdoch, whose media empire includes The Wall Street Journal, Fox News, and other influential outlets, has a network of about $20 billion, according to global media.
Murdoch stepped down last year as chairman of News Corp and Fox, ending a seven-decade career running a media empire that once spanned satellites, Hollywood studios, books, newspapers, and TV stations on three continents.
It was also revealed that Murdoch’s surprise resignation handed control of the media stable, which includes Fox News, The Times of London, and The Wall Street Journal, to his son, Lachlan.
His marriage to Zhukova is not expected to impact a trust that holds 40% of News Corp and Fox voting shares, according to media reports.
