Delhi: The music company Universal Music Group has promoted Sanujeet Bhujabal to the role of Managing Director and appointed Viral Jani as Chief Revenue Officer for India and South Asia.
Before this promotion, Bhujabal served as the Executive Vice-President of Content. Prior to joining Universal Music, Bhujabal was associated with Sony Music Entertainment, where his last role was as Executive Director.
Last year, Devraj Sanyal was promoted from the MD and CEO position to Chairman and CEO of India & South Asia, as well as SVP of Strategy for Africa, Middle East, and Asia (AMeA) at Universal Music Group, leaving the MD position vacant.
Jani joined the company 1.4 years ago and was instrumental in leading the company’s digital transformation in India and South Asia. His new role as CRO is in addition to his current position as Head of Digital, Strategy & Transformation for India and South Asia.
Jani, a graduate of MICA in Ahmedabad and an angel investor has held various roles across technology and media firms. Before joining UMG, he served as EVP and Country Head at Times Bridge. Prior to that, Jani led strategy, television, and entertainment partnerships for Twitter.
