Delhi: Google has revised its advertising policies to ban the promotion of websites and apps that create deepfake pornography. This change, effective May 30, 2024, addresses the proliferation of services that use AI to generate explicit content.

With the update to the Inappropriate Content Policy, any advertiser promoting platforms that offer deepfake porn, guide users on its creation, or review such services will face immediate suspension.

Such violators will be prohibited from publishing ads on Google, reinforcing the company's stringent existing policies on sexual content amid concerns over easily accessible tools for creating manipulated pornographic images.
