New Delhi: Google announced the launch of the second edition of Google News India India Languages Program 2024.

This year, Google is partnering with Mediology to deliver the ILP's second edition, with a focus on next-generation tools for newsrooms working with Indic language.

The company collaborated with over 300 Indian language news publishers and nine languages to help the platforms modernise their online presence and enhance user experience across web, app and video formats.

The next-gen tools in focus for the Indian language news include Google Cloud’s GenAI tools, real-time content insights (RCI), news consumer insights (NCI), and Pinpoint and enhance data maturity with Google Analytics 4 and Firebase analytics for the app.

The ILP 2.0 will be delivered in 9 languages (English, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Malayalam, Gujarati, and Marathi) and will follow a structured format that will include eight sessions featuring guest speakers, success stories, and product-focused training; personalised assessment and guidance for all selected news publishers, and technical support for a subset of news publishers.
