Delhi: The Supreme Court reserved its order on a contempt plea against Baba Ramdev, Acharya Balkrishna, and others in the Patanjali misleading advertisements case.

Ramdev and Balkrishna have also been exempted from personal appearance at the next hearing.

Patanjali was granted time to file affidavits indicating steps taken to recall suspended products' ads and medicines.

Justices Hima Kohli and Ahsanuddin Amanullah heard the case and emphasised making informed choices.

Patanjali will submit an affidavit within three weeks detailing actions to remove misleading ads and recall suspended products.

It's of interest that the Consumer Protection Act 2019 allows the authority to impose a monetary penalty over misleading ads and that isn't the case, as seen with the dealings of the Patanjali story.
