A recent ad film by the Bharatiya Janata Party shading the opposition I.N.D.I.A bloc has been amassing views and comments. Set in a satirical tone, the reel characterises the members of the bloc as the ten heads of ‘Raavan.’

This ‘ten-headed’ Raavan can be seen asking to change the label of their store and the heads start fighting amongst themselves over whose name gets to be mentioned. The label maker shades the notion that changing labels does not change levels.

The film comes from the creative minds of Scarecrow M&C Saatchi.

In 2019 also, Scarecrow created multiple films for the BJP to target first-time voters or to highlight the inside conflict of the opposition bloc.

Two of the BJP films from the 2019 elections:

The ‘Raavan ad’ follows BJP’s previous reel that also took a satirical route and criticised the opposition alliance in the setting of family members asking for the hand of a bride and debating over ‘dulha kaun hai?’

This year, BJP’s campaign tagline for the general elections is ‘Is baar 400 paar’.

In one of its pieces on social media, BJP has also adopted the 'Saavdhaan India' content style to engage the audience.
