Viacom18, owned by Reliance Industries, restructured its entertainment operations ahead of its $8.5 billion merger with Disney's India unit.
As per media reports, under the new structure, Kiran Mani, who became the chief executive of digital business (JioCinema) in November last year, will oversee the digital and sports businesses.
Kevin Vaz, who took on the role of CEO - broadcast in July last year, will be in charge of the entire content business. Both Mani and Vaz will function as Co-CEOs.
Last month, Walt Disney Co. and Reliance Industries announced signing of binding pacts to merge their media operations in India.
Under the deal, Reliance and its affiliates will hold 63.16% and Disney will have 36.84% in the JV, which will create India's leading media company that will house two streaming services and around 120 television channels.
