Phantom sues Sony entities, says they are not proxy for Zee or Punit Goenka

Phantom Studios, a stakeholder in Zee, has initiated legal action for criminal defamation against Sony group entities Bangla Entertainment and Culver Max Entertainment. The case is in response to allegations suggesting Phantom Studios operates as a proxy, or a fronting, for Zee Entertainment and its CEO, Punit Goenka.

Ravi Ahuja, the president-designate of Sony Group, NP Singh, CEO of Sony India, and other board members of these entities have been cited as respondents in the petition, according to media reports.

Phantom, earlier known as Mad Man Film Ventures, asserted that Sony Group, in numerous news articles and in front of several legal forums, accused it of being influenced by Zee and Goenka.

According to reports, Phantom also stated that it is its own entity and has been prioritising its own interests to safeguard its commercial concerns.
