Virat Kohli is the latest victim of 'deepfake' technology, with a viral video misleadingly portraying the former India skipper endorsing a betting app.
The video is, in fact, a dubbed rendition of Kohli's 2018 sit-down interview with Graham Bensinger. Its misleading nature has sparked a buzz among social media users.
Kohli's interview footage was morphed and synced with an AI-generated voice. The deceptive video quickly garnered attention on social media and was flagged for its lack of credibility. According to the information provided in the video, Kohli purportedly earned 81,000 rupees by investing just Rs 1000 within a span of 3 days.
"2000% win is assured. With this app, you can earn more money by spending less," Kohli's AI-generated voice said in the video.
