As reported by BestMediaInfo.com earlier, top four GECs – Star, Sony, Viacom18 and Zee – did not participate in the second round of DD Freedish e-auction for the Bucket A+.
This resulted in a steep fall in the bid prices.
The third round of e-auctions, which is the second round for the Bucket A, began with Goldmines winning a slot for Rs 17.1 crore. The base price for this bucket is Rs 13 crore.
Earlier, two news channels – India TV and News24 – secured a slot in the Bucket A+ each for Rs 17.5 crore and Rs 17.85 crore, respectively.
Shemaroo Umang secured a slot for Rs 17.8 crore in Bucket A+ while Big Magic won the slot for Rs 18.1 crore.
As the bid progressed, the prices fell heavily with very few takers in Bucket A+.
The reserve price for General Entertainment Channels (GEC) in Hindi/ Urdu language in the second round for Bucket A+ was Rs 16 crore.
