News18 Tamil Nadu is hosting ‘Thoranam Aaiyiram - The Grand Carnival’ in Puducherry.
At Thoranam Aaiyiram, the attendees can explore shopping stalls, food offerings and other activities, including pottery workshops and baking demonstrations. It also includes a dedicated kids' zone featuring live bands, concerts, and dance performances. Additionally, attendees can participate in various games and activities and get a chance to win prizes.
The event’s inauguration ceremony will be attended by Lt Governor of Puducherry, Tamilisai Soundararajan; Chief Minister of Puducherry, N Rangasamy and Tourism Minister, Government of Puducherry, K Lakshminarayanan.
The carnival is presented by Pondicherry Tourism, co-powered by Fybros Switches, Satyabhama Institute of Science and Technology, Pondy Thanga Maaligai and Reliance, with a special partnership from Ponvandu Matic Liquid. The event is supported by associate sponsors Strong Aana Ply Sharonply, De’Shayra Skinz and Shri Venkateshwara Group of Institutions.
The carnival will take place at Old Port Puducherry from February 23 to 25, 2024, starting daily at 3:00 PM, with the grand opening ceremony set for February 23 at 6:00 PM.
