MeitY, MIB and DPIIT secretaries to address 18th edition of India Digital Summit 2024

India Digital Summit (IDS), the annual flagship conference of the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), is set to return with its 18th edition on February 27th and 28th, 2024, at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai.

IDS 2024 is being organised by IAMAI in partnership with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB), the Union Ministry of Tourism, UIDAI, Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), Government eMarketplace, In-Space and Skill India Digital. The Summit is Co-powered by Peak XV and WhistleFEED, and Brought to You by META.

IDS 2024 has been upscaled from its previous editions to comprise seven parallel sectoral conferences, covering the digital landscape 360 degrees. Over two days, three of Government of India’s Secretaries and more than 60 founders and co-founders, will converge on this forum to deliberate and debate a plethora of issues aligned with the theme of IDS 2024: ‘Digitise | Monetise | Democratise’.  Conferences to be held under the Summit are in the following sectors: Digital Advertising and Martech, Digital Gaming, Digital Commerce and Logistics, Digital Entertainment, Edutech, Fintech and Travel and Tourism.

Among key speakers at the IDS are Secretary, MeitY, S Krishnan; Secretary, MIB, Sanjay Jaju; Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Rajesh Kumar Singh; Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India; Vice-chairman, IAMAI, and Co-Founder and Group Chief Executive Officer, MakeMyTrip, Rajesh Magow; Managing Director, Air India Express, Aloke Singh; Actor and Producer, Anil Kapoor; Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Shaadi.com and President, Lionsgate Play Asia, Rohit Jain .

As part of thought leadership activities, a number of reports and a whitepaper will be launched at the Summit. These include:

1. The ‘Internet in India’ report based on the ICUBE 2023 study, covering over 90,000 households across all states and Union Territories of India (barring Lakshadweep). This annual report is the most comprehensive survey of internet usage in the country. The report is jointly prepared by IAMAI and KANTAR,
2. ‘Travel Tech 2.0: The Next Phase of Digitally Empowering the Indian Traveler’ produced by Grant Thorton Bharat, and
3. ‘How Indian Consumers Choose between Horizontal, Vertical and D2C Commerce’, produced by Interactive Avenues.
4. A whitepaper, ‘Leveraging Location-based Services for a Sustainable EV Ecosystem in India’ prepared by the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, in partnership with HERE India, will also be unveiled at the Summit.

The Summit will showcase the latest innovations in digital products and services from over 75 brands in an expansive Expo.

Instituted under IDS 2024 are two of India’s digital awards: the India Digital Awards and the Digital Responsibility Awards. These awards will honour outstanding achievements in the digital world across various categories, recognizing the best and brightest in the industry.
