Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, inaugurated iTV Network's Mumbai news centre, and launched the Mumbai edition of their newspaper, The Sunday Guardian.
The news organisation also presented the ‘Friends Of Mumbai Inaugural Awards’ at the iTV News Centre in Mumbai. Shinde, along with Rajya Sabha MP and founder of iTV Network, Kartikeya Sharma, attended the event.
Among those recognised were Anand Mahindra, chairman of the Mumbai Festival Advisory Committee, Hemant Oberoi, founder and CEO of OB Hospitality, Anu Malik, music composer and singer, Puneet Chhatwal, MD and CEO of Indian Hotels Company, and Sabbas Joseph, founding director of Wizcraft Group.
At the event, Shinde said, “The Friends of Mumbai Award appreciates people who serve Mumbai across different spheres of life. Those who believe that it is their responsibility to serve the city, and the state that they reside in, are being recognised and honoured.”
As part of its initiatives in Mumbai, iTV Network also announced its plans to open a media school that will train young journalists.
