Close on the heels of JioCinema announcing digital ad rates for IPL, Disney Star has floated the TV advertising rate card.

As per the rate card, the IPL advertising on TV will cost slightly more for brands than last year.

The advertisers will have to shell out Rs 16.4 lakh on average for a 10-second slot on Standard Definition (SD) and High Definition (HD) as compared to Rs 16 lakh last year.

In 2023, Disney Star delivered a 32% jump in IPL ratings while its reach grew by 36% as the broadcaster aired 12 IPL matches on FTA channel Star Utsav Movies.

“A total of 505 million viewers tuned in to the IPL 2023 live broadcast on the Network, making it the first cricket tournament to register over half a billion viewers,” the broadcaster said at the end of the 2023 season of IPL.

However, one of the top television advertisers told BestMediaInfo.com on the condition of anonymity that they are expecting to close deals with Star Sports at the same ad rates as last year.

For spot buyers, an advertiser will have to shell out Rs 12.8 lakh for a 10-second slot for advertising on SD, up from Rs 12 lakh in the previous year.

However, spot buying on HD will be marginally cheaper this year as Star Sports is eyeing to broaden its advertiser base. A 10-second slot on HD will cost Rs 5.5 lakh against Rs 5.9 lakh in 2023.
