Formerly known as Twitter, X, under the leadership of Elon Musk has undergone a slew of changes as part of the rebranding process, be it in terms of letting go of the blue bird logo or even renaming TweetDeck as X Pro.
In a recent development, X has discontinued free access to TweetDeck, Twitter’s iconic social media dashboard. This tool was widely used by social media managers, journalists, and Twitteratis to monitor various lists and trends on the microblogging platform. Now, access to TweetDeck is limited to Blue subscribers, transforming it into a paid application.
Earlier in July, Twitter officially announced the transition of TweetDeck into a premium service and granted a 30-day transition period.
Under TweetDeck2.0, aka XPro, users will have a one-time option to copy all search, list, and profile columns into the new TweetDeck by downloading one’s own data in Twitter settings.
Some of the new features on the social media dashboard include a sign-on TweetDeck Preview experience, a Tweet composer that allows one to create threads and add media to even scheduled Tweets, Video Docking to watch videos while accessing content in the same column, and changing Decks.
