Meta Platforms is all set to roll out the much-anticipated web version of Threads soon to make its new text-first social media platform more useful for power users like brands, companies, advertisers and journalists.
While Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram and Support at Threads, did confirm the development to take place soon, he hasn’t given any specific date for the web rollout. However, last week, he mentioned that Meta had been testing “an early version internally for a week or two,” but it still “needs some work” before wide release.

Additionally, Meta will also be rolling out an improved search that could allow users to search for specific posts and not just accounts, soon.
Earlier this month, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO, Meta, also stated that the company is working on adding the feature along with better search and that it would be ready in “the next few weeks.”
Launched on July 5 and having amassed 100 million users in just five days, Threads had seen a popularity drop in its Daily Active Users on Android to 10.3 million from the peak of 49.3 million, in a month’s time according to a report by Similarweb, an analytics platform.
This web rollout of Threads is being viewed as Meta’s hope to gain an edge over X, formerly Twitter, as the initial surge in users waned with users returning to the more familiar platform X after the initial rush to try Meta's new text-first offering.
