The government has given Apurva Chandra, Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the additional responsibility of the post of Secretary of the Telecom Department.

The additional charge is given to Chandra as the current Telecom Secretary K Rajaraman relinquished the role on July 31, 2023, as stated in the government order.

The order further stated that Chandra will be responsible for the additional Telecom secretary role “Until the appointment of regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earlier.”
