The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has extended the last date for submission of comments and counter comments on its consultation paper on ‘Assignment for Spectrum for Space-based Communication Services’.
TRAI had released the consultation paper on April 6, 2023. The last date for receiving written comments on the issues raised in the consultation paper from the stakeholders was May 4, 2023 and for counter comments it was May 18, 2023.
TRAI has now stated that keeping in view the request of stakeholders and industry associations for extension of time for submission of comments, it has been decided to extend the last date for submission of written comments and counter comments up to May 18, 2023 and June 1, 2023, respectively.
No further requests for an extension would be considered, the regulatory body added.
The consultation paper released by TRAI includes information on international practices and presents 54 questions for stakeholders to provide input on, primarily regarding the assignment of spectrum and charging, without any pre-determined bias.
