Abby 2023: EssenceMediacom is Media Agency of the Year; wins only Grand Prix

EssenceMediacom Wednesday picked up its first Media Agency of the Year 2023 title at Media Abby held at Goafest. The agency won the only Gran Prix of the Media Abby awards for its outdoor innovation titled “The Missing Chapter” done for Whisper India.

Topping the chart with 122 points, the GroupM agency also won 4 Gold, 9 Silver and 6 Bronze Abbys.

Mindshare, the largest among all the GroupM agencies, was the runner-up with 106 points from 6 Gold, 5 Silver and 7 Bronze medals.

Madison fared at No. 3 with 68 points from 4 Gold, 4 Silver and 3 Bronze Abbys.

Initiative Media of Meidabrands India won 2 Gold, 2 Silver and 6 Bronze medals adding to 52 points.

Wavemaker was GroupM’s third agency among the top 5 agencies winning 1 Gold, 4 Silver and 2 Bronze awards.

This year, Media Abby ​​awards were given separately to Indian and South Asian agencies.

There were 94 medals awarded to Indian companies while South Asian companies won 5 Media Abbys.

The total number of entries stood at 1019 out of which 408 were shortlists.
