Keshub Mahindra, the Chairman Emeritus of Mahindra and Mahindra group, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 99.
Mahindra had joined the company in 1947 and took over the role of Chairman in 1963. He had a big role to play in the transformation of the company to a diversified conglomerate.
Mahindra retired from his role in 2012 after heading the Group for 48 years. Upon his exit, Anand Mahindra took over the position and is now leading the company.
With a net worth of $1.2 billion, Keshub Mahindra was also the oldest Indian billionaire, according to a recent report by Forbes.
