Despite the boycott calls made by the news television industry bodies – NBDA and NBF, some news channels have started bidding for the MPEG-2 slots of DD Freedish.
The bidding for Bucket C for Hindi news channels started a while ago and the first slot was picked for Rs 19.85 crore, highly placed sources informed BestMediaInfo.com.

The bidding appears to be fierce and competitive as the first slot was sold at a price which is thrice the base price of Rs 7 crore.
In a letter to the I&B Minister Anurag Thakur, NBDA and NBF Tuesday said that their members would stay away from the e-auction until the resolution of the concerns regarding the revised process/methodology.
