Nokia undertakes rebranding

Nokia has undergone a brand identity change for the first time in 60 years.

The company has strategically taken this decision for people to stop associating it with only mobile phones.

“There was an association with smartphones, and now we are a business technology company”, Chief Executive Pekka Lundmark told Reuters.

Its redesigned logo still has the iconic 5 letters but is "more contemporary and digital," and is "emblematic of an energised, dynamic, and modern Nokia," the Finnish company said in a statement.

While Nokia will continue to sell equipments, its main focus now is to sell gears to other businesses.
