The inaugural season of the DP World International League T20 (ILT20) has clocked a viewership of over 10 crores in India, according to Zee Entertainment.
The Dessert Vipers qualified for the playoffs with a 22-run victory over Dubai Capitals, they retook the lead in the points table. Gulf Giants beat MI Emirates in the Knockouts to qualify for the Finals to face the Vipers.
The Finals of the DP World ILT20 took place on February 12 with an intense battle between the two teams of Dessert Vipers and Gulf Giants in Dubai International Stadium.
Rahul Johri, President Business, South Asia of Zee Entertainment Enterprises; Khalid Ali Zaroon, DP World ILT20 Chairman, along with Avram Glazer, Owner of Dessert Vipers team were seen at the match.
Johri also announced that the second season of ILT20 will be on Jan 13, 2024, on Live TV with Vivek Razdan in the commentary box.
The DP World ILT20 made its debut at the Dubai International Stadium on January 13, 2023. Some greatest cricketing superstars made their way to the UAE to play in the inaugural edition of the league. The tournament was played in a 34-match format across UAE’s cricket facilities in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
Franchise teams, comprising over 100 international and 24 UAE-based players, included Abu Dhabi Knight Riders (Knight Riders Group), Desert Vipers (Lancer Capital), Dubai Capitals (GMR), Gulf Giants (Adani Sportsline), MI Emirates (Reliance Industries), and Sharjah Warriors (Capri Global).
