Edtech company Byju's has denied any plans to shut down one of its acquisitions, coding platform WhiteHat Jr.

According to a company spokesperson, they are optimising WhiteHat Jr. for “organic and efficient growth".

"At the group level, in accordance with its steadfast commitment towards achieving operational profitability, Byju's is constantly evaluating and optimising its business operations towards global growth. As an ongoing activity, we are actively evaluating all our business units to ensure that they are aligned with our path to profitability," Byju's spokesperson said.

"We remain fully committed to delivering world-class educational experiences and solutions that empower students to achieve their full potential," the spokesperson added.

As per media reports, Byju's was planning to shut down WhiteHat Jr. with an aim of restructuring and cost-cutting.

Byju's acquired WhiteHat Jr. for $300 million in 2020 and it was one of the most high-profile acquisitions made by the edtech company. Launched in 2015, Byju's offers personalised learning programmes for school students in India.
