Daryl Lee is going to become the new Global CEO of McCann. He will be taking over the reigns from Chris Macdonald, who has decided to step down from the role owing to personal reasons.
After being associated with McCann as the Global CEO and Chairman for nearly two decades, Macdonald will now be moving back to United Kingdom after spending close to a decade in the US.
Macdonald had joined McCann Erikson as Managing Director in January 2006 and since then he had been associated with the group across several roles - including Chairman and CEO, McCann London; President, McCann New York; President, McCann North America; Global President-Advertising and Allied Agencies, McCann Worldgroup.
Announcing the move, Macdonald said, “After nearly 10 years in the US, it is time to go home. I have loved every minute and am so thankful to all the people I have worked with and am so proud of all we have achieved.”
He also went on to add that McCann is an incredibly special place, with brilliant clients and an unwavering commitment to creativity.
“I have no doubt that Daryl and his leadership team will drive McCann Worldgroup to even greater success and I will be cheering loudly from the other side of the Atlantic,” he added.
In the past, Lee has been associated with IPG Mediabrands, Universal McCann, McCann Erickson, Ogilvy and Mather Advertising, amongst others.
