BharatPe CEO Suhail Sameer quits

Suhail Sameer

BharatPe CEO Suhail Sameer, who had fallen out with former co-founder Ashneer Grover, is going to exit the company shortly.

In a statement, as per news agency PTI, BharatPe said that Sameer "will transition from Chief Executive Officer to Strategic Advisor effective January 7, 2023.”

Apart from this, BharatPe’s CFO Nalin Negi has been appointed as the interim CEO.

"This will ensure a smooth transition for current CFO, Nalin Negi who has been appointed interim CEO to partner with senior executives to bolster execution in all phases of the company's business."

This development comes months after Ashneer Grover’s unceremonious exit from the company. Grover and the board of the fintech company, which he had co-founded, had engaged in ugly exchanges on social media platforms and letters, and also allegations of misappropriation of funds on him and family members had also been levied.

Meanwhile, Sameer has also worked with RPSG Capital Ventures as Designated Partner between 2018-2020. He was also the Chief Executive Officer of RPSG (Guiltfree Industries) during 2018-2020.

Sameer also worked with RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, CESG Ventures (RP Sanjiv Goenka Group) and Fireside Ventures in various capacities. In his early days, Sameer, an IIM Lucknow and DCE alumnus, led McKinsey’s clean-tech practice for South Asia and the power practice for India.
