Harjot Singh will become the new Global Chief Strategy Officer at the McCann Worldgroup. As part of his new role, Singh will now lead the strategy discipline across all of McCann Worldgroup companies.
Further, Alex Lopez, Global President and CCO, McCann, will be parting ways from the global agency - which has consolidated the roles of Global CCO for both McCann Worldgroup and McCann (ad agency) into one Global CCO position.
Lopez stated, “As the CCO role shifts to one that will be focused more on traditional advertising in their daily work, I am stepping aside to allow someone to take over who will bring the same passion to the job as I did during my time leading the organisation. I have loved my time at McCann Worldgroup and wish the team here all the best.”
Having announced the upcoming departure of Chris Macdonald, Global Chairman and CEO, McCann, at the end of FY23’s Q1, McCann Worldgroup network is going to undergo an organisational restructuring.
The global network has, therefore, consolidated the global roles of both McCann Worldgroup (entire network including McCann ad agency) and McCann (advertising agency).
Earlier, it was announced that Daryl Lee will be taking over the position of Macdonald as the Global CEO of McCann Worldgroup, following the latter’s exit.
Lee has announced that Singh will be serving in the new consolidated role of the Global Chief Strategy Officer at McCann Worldgroup - whilst retaining his current position at the ad agency side of the business.
Singh has been associated with McCann Worldgroup across several roles for the past 12 years. He was previously associated with Grey Group (Canada) as SVP and Head of Strategy for a period of two years and with Leo Burnett (Toronto) for a period of one year as VP-Strategic Planning.
Earlier on, he has also served across various roles in Cossette, BBDO Worldwide, Rediffusion Y&R and The Coca-Cola Company.
Additionally, Kate MacNevin has also been promoted to the role of Global Chief Operating Officer, McCann Worldgroup, and will retain her role as Global Chair of MRM and optimise the day-to-day operations, focus on infrastructure across production, systems transformation and IT to fuel fitness and agility for clients.
