Karthi Kumar Marshan has stepped down from the role of President and Chief Marketing Officer at Kotak Mahinda Bank. He was associated with the bank for almost 17 years.
Post-December 2022, he will take on the advisory role.
He wrote on LinkedIn, “In June this year, I completed 16 years at Kotak. It’s been one helluva ride. I am truly lucky to have had an employer who instinctively understands the value that marketing adds. I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again, my bosses let me get away with murder, and that’s what has kept me engaged all these years. It’s the first job I’ve stayed in longer than 2 years, and when I look back, one big reason I stayed so long at Kotak is that it’s actually like 7 jobs or more, on a daily basis.”
He further wrote, “To honour the 16 years of meaning, joy and freedom Kotak gave me, I want to give away at least 16 days a year to my fraternity. Starting January 1, 2023, I will have some time to spare and am keen to help you and/or your firm. For what, how, and when, we can figure. If you’re game to explore, ping me at karthi@marshan.ink. And yes, I am offering this time FREE. Please take me up on it, or nudge someone who might.”
Before joining Kotak Mahindra Bank, he was associated with South Asian Television as CEO and Chairman of the Board for more than two years.
Prior to that, he was the Principal at Marsh, an insurance broking and risk management company. His job at Marsh entailed strategic consulting, including business plan and sales strategy development.
He has also been Head of Marketing at IDBI Bank and Chief Marketing Officer at Sharekhan.
Before joining the brand side, he was a Copywriter and Account Manager at Burson Marsteller Communications. He later joined Trikaya Grey Advertising as Account Group Head.
