The curtain raiser for Discovery Channel’s new documentary series, ‘Build India with Vaibhav Dange’, was launched by Anurag Thakur, Union Minister for I&B, Youth Affairs and Sports, in the presence of Bhagwanth Khuba, Minister of State, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, and Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad, Minister of State, Ministry of Finance.
The docu-series consisting of 12 episodes chronicles incredible technology and execution methods behind India’s man-made marvels and brings to life the stories behind New India’s successful efforts to build world-class connectivity in the form of roads, tunnels, ports, etc.
From the challenging Zojila tunnel to the bridge on Chenab river and from Mumbai’s trans-harbour link and metro to the Chenani-Nashri tunnel, it tells the stories behind all major projects that have contributed to nation-building.
The docu-series will premiere on December 15, 2022, and telecasted on Discovery and Discovery Plus every Thursday and Sunday at 7:10 pm and 10.55 am, respectively.
‘Build India with Vaibhav Dange’ follows a magazine-style format which introduces viewers to the process behind how each project was planned and executed and brings to life the experiences and challenges faced by individuals and experts working on the field through in-depth interviews.
Speaking at the curtain raiser ceremony, Thakur said, “This century is India’s! From ground-breaking innovations to record-breaking marvels, the brightest Indian minds are reimagining the potential of the country’s superabundance of resources to change the face of modern India.”
“Innovative engineering ideas are being executed through cutting-edge tech to create a world-class infrastructural landscape that will accelerate the rise of India as a Superpower,” he added.
Each episode tells the story of a project of national importance- roads, waterways, ports, bridges and tunnels, aviation and renewable energy. The documentary is an attempt to highlight the scale and ambition of India’s large-scale infrastructure plans.
The curator of the docu-series and infrastructure expert, Vaibhav Dange said, "These are unique stories about the passion to reshape India's infrastructure. The stories showcase how excellent engineering, great human capabilities and cutting-edge technologies are building new India.
