Meta Inc has announced that it was looking into the ‘Configuration Change’ issue pertaining to which thousands of social media users were facing issues in accessing Instagram. Moreover, Instagram also revealed that the bug has been resolved.
In some cases, the users' accounts on Instagram were also suspended unless they verified their email addresses and contact numbers.
Taking cognizance of the matter, Instagram tweeted, “We're aware that some of you are having issues accessing your Instagram account. We're looking into it and apologize for the inconvenience."
Instagram’s Twitter handle later wrote, “We’ve resolved this bug now – it was causing people in different parts of the world to have issues accessing their accounts and caused a temporary change for some in the number of followers. Sorry!”
However, Meta refrained from commenting on the questions revolving around the account suspensions, as per reports.
According to Downdetector, an outage-tracking website, nearly 7,000 Instagram users, from and out of India, were impacted and faced issues when trying to load Instagram’s website on Desktops and faced errors like ‘Page Not Available’ and ‘Feed Not Refreshing’.
As per the data collated by the outage-tracking website, in India, there were over 900 users who reported issues while accessing the social media platform. Many even took to the micro-blogging platform, Twitter to report the inaccessibility of Instagram and Facebook.
On the contrary, there were some users which didn’t fall prey to the Instagram outage and were able to access all of Meta’s services without any inconvenience.
