Pooja Jauhri, Group CEO of VMLY&R has decided to retire from advertising. She will be handing over her responsibilities to Saurabh Saksena, President of Red Fuse Communications, over the course of the next few months.
Jauhri was part of The Glitch, which was acquired by WPP in 2017, and integrated into the VMLY&R network in November 2020. Post the acquisition, all The Glitch Co-Founders, Varun Duggirala, Rohit Raj and Jauhari reported to Tripti Lochan, Co-CEO of VMLY&R Asia.
A few days back, Varun Duggirala and Rohit Raj, Co-Founders of The Glitch, announced their departure from the agency.
Earlier in March 2022, Jauhari took over from Anil Nair as Group CEO at VMLY&R.
Jauhri wrote on LinkedIn, “Thank you universe, for this beautiful phase. 11 beautiful years of being part of building The Glitch with Varun, Rohit + my brilliant colleagues and friends. 5 years of that spent driving its integration within Mark Read’s brave new WPP & 1 year of that spent in leading 4 companies to create 1 big, diverse and prominent new VMLY&R India led by a smashing EXCO, the perfect home for Glitch.”
She further wrote, “My work is not complete, as over the course of this year and some part of next year I will continue to work with the exco to drive what VMLY&R is known for, delivering a connected marketing ecosystem for our clients. Jon Cook’s VMLY&R allows leaders to be transparent about their life goals & I’m a true fan. This wonderful year is a result of that. Thank you for that! Post this, as planned, retirement from advertising and experimenting with something new is on the cards.”
Without divulging much information on her next move, she mentioned on LinkedIn that she’ll be focussing on ‘slow growth’.
“Now staying true to the lives that my partner and I live, the next phase of my professional journey will be focused on slow growth. Making conscious choices so I can be in full control of my time, who I spend my time with and how I spend my working hours. But more on that later. For now, focused on today and being fully present in this moment of transition,” she said.
