As the former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson started trending following the announcement of his resignation, adhesive brand Fevicol took a well-timed dig at hum by sharing and old creative with a twist.
The creative was made originally by Schbang in 2020 after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced stepping down as senior members of the royal family.
With Borris Johnson announcing his separation from the British government, Fevicol and Schbang replugged the post with the caption “(Bor)iss baar hum phirse kahenge” (we will say this again).
The post went viral and the comment sections got filled with laughter emojis and replies appreciating the brand’s creativity. The engagement also garnered attention from leading news outlets.
“Historically Fevicol has made some of the most memorable ads. The simple reason why these ads are memorable is that there is a deep user insight behind them. Where brands focus on the trends in their chase-for-moment marketing feature, Fevicol keeps its eye on consumer insight. This has always been our formula for success and how we made a 2-year-old post just as appropriate for the latest development in the UK as well,” said Dhruv Rajput, AVP, Schbang.
