The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has further extended the last date for submission of comments and counter-comments up to June 28 and July 5, respectively, for consultation paper on “Issues Relating to Media Ownership.”
TRAI had released the consultation paper on “Issues Relating to Media Ownership” on April 12, 2022.
The last date of receiving comments on the issues raised in the Consultation Paper from the stakeholders was initially fixed as May 10, and of counter-comments as May 24.
However, due to requests from stakeholders for extension of time for submission of comments, the last date for receiving written comments and counter comments was earlier extended up to June 7 and June 21, respectively.
As per a release by TRAI, this has been done “keeping in view the requests received from the stakeholders for extension of time for submission of comments on the above-mentioned Consultation Paper on the ground that the Consultation Paper requires in-depth study on many issues.”
The release further stated that the comments and counter-comments can be sent, preferably in the electronic form, to Anil Kumar Bhardwaj, Advisor (B&CS), Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, on email: advbcs-2@trai.gov.in and jtadvbcs-2@trai.gov.in.
